So, though it’s kind of late in coming, I caught some of the Olympic games coverage today. It was okay and all, what with Phelps breaking those world records and winning 8 gold medals, but I find that I’m not too much into watching it this year.

Usually I catch the gymnastics events, but since it seems that didn’t go too well for USA, I can’t bring myself to watch it. To tell the truth, I’m more of a winter Olympics fan. Skating and ski-jumping are my absolute fave events, the drama and energy you can practically feel coming off the ice…

Well, I think that does it for my obligatory “Olympics” post…

While It’s been a relatively slow month (and a half?) for me, it hasn’t really been uneventful.

Towards the latter part of June, I got into a fender bender. Nothing major, thankfully, just a few dents. Needless to say, I will now be extra careful when backing out of fast food restaurants.

Also, I’ve been recommended for a possible promotion at work. Just word-of-mouth really, since I haven’t heard anything official yet. If it did happen, I’d would definitely help me save up for a new car. I’ve been thinking about getting one that’s more fuel economic, what with the rising cost of fuel and all.

And just yesterday I bought a new video game (that my sister just HAD to have) for around $40. So, today I stop by the store again just to see “what’s new”, and guess what game was in the used games bin for HALF the price? Yes, my luck sucks when it comes to those things…well, hindsight and all that.

I admit I’ve been a bit lazy about posting, but I’m trying, see? I think I’ve even made it mildly interesting…

Also, special thanks to Sora for the birthday greeting! Nevermind if it was late, but it’s the only online one I got! … Which is kinda sad actually… LOL Thank you!

So, it seems I haven’t been posting in this blog as much as I’d hoped I would. Oh, well…

In other news… I finally bought a new laptop! *cheers & celebrates* It’s a bargain model (though it still costs several hundred dollars ) but it comes with everything I need on a daily basis. Since it’s compact, it’s way lighter than my older laptop, which was bought back in 2003. The main thing I wanted, and got, was the wireless-readiness, which is a must for someone on the move as much as me. Cafe lounging, here I come!

Also, I can’t believe Mother’s Day is so early this year! May 11, for those who didn’t know. I’ve been meaning to get something nice for my mom, since I was unfortunately unemployed last Christmas and couldn’t get her anything over $10 . But, with the purchase of my laptop, I’ll have to be pretty creative with my gift-giving if I want to keep by bank balance in the black. Decisions, decisions…

My birthday is also this month! Even though it’s weeks away, I have a hunch my friends are planning something fun. We’ll see…

Hopefully, if things quite down at work, I’ll be able to blog and edit the domain more this month. I’ll be experimenting a lot with layout, that’s for sure.

EDIT: I just upgraded my WordPress! I’m loving the pale blue/black motif in the admin panel.

So, it’s April, and for most people that means taxes…

This’ll be my second year filing on my own, and again I’ll be wondering if I filled in all the forms correctly..but anyway…to other things…

I’ve now got enough for my new laptop and what luck! There’s a laptop sale going on this weekend at a local electronics store. So, that’ll hopefully bring in some prospects. The only thing now is to get a connector for my files on the old hard drive and I’m set.

In the meantime, I bought The Sims Castaway last weekend, being a Sims-aholic and all, and I can say that while it isn’t as expansive as the regular Sims 2, the funny animations and “adventure/discovery” feel to it make it highly entertaining. I might give a full game review later, if I feel up to it.

So, I’ve almost reached my goal of buying a new computer. Just a few hundred more dollars and I’ll have a decent choice between a new Vaio or HP laptop, depending what models have the best features and reviews…that sort of thing.

Of course, this is good news and everything, but there’s still the question of getting the files from my old hard drive copied over. I did it bit by bit before my laptop totally crashed, now I think I’ll have to get a connector or something.

Anyway, once that’s taken care of I’ll finally be able to work on my new site designs and coding. I’ve wanted to implement so many features into the domain and expand my knowledge of website building. Hopefully, I’ll have the chance to go for a Web Developer degree.
